been busy working on my upcoming art shows.
been taking lots of pictures of plants.
got a working printer again.
starting to work on more artwork.
settling in at the new job.
enjoying tawny port.

no entries in over a year.
gah.
well, life has a way of getting in the way, doesn't it?
i guess it started a while back when i started dating chrissy. she's monoplolized all my free time since.
but i feel a tide turning, a wave crashing and receeding. nothing left to do but to ride it out. i'm not sure what'll be left after it, but all i can hope for is positive things.
i've been in a creative slump for the last year or so. even with a new camera, not much of anything has come out of it. trying to regress myself to a point where i had energy, drive, determination, motivation, and creativity. why do i feel so much different now than i did just a few years ago? has the world crushed my soul? only now, i'm finally getting up, brushing the dust off of my shoulders and getting on with things. yet i'm still on this wave, still struggling in it, but at least i feel like now i'm getting on top of it and ready to ride it through.

saw a great quote today and now i can't find it again.
Flaming lips saying something about no longer responding or reacting to other music, and creating a dialog between them, they are now making music that does not reference other music.

love insnares the soul like a vine climbing a tree.
sometimes it's sybiotic, sometimes parasitic.
sometimes i'm not sure which it is that has me.
the love is infesting my soul, and i'm not sure what to make of it.
shall it make me stronger and persevere, or will it drag me down and suffocate me?
i do not know, and i beleive only time shall tell.
